Privacy Policy
MVP placeholder policy published during product development. Last updated 2026.
1. Status of this policy
Pender Education is an early-stage education technology company and part of Pender AI. This is an MVP placeholder privacy policy published while the product is in development.
It will be replaced by a full policy, reviewed before any real information about a child is collected. We do not claim to have completed an independent privacy, security or regulatory compliance assessment, and we do not claim to be fully compliant with every applicable privacy regulation today.
2. Who Pender Education is
Pender Education is building technology that helps international families discover UK independent and boarding schools, and helps schools respond to international enquiries. Pender Education is part of Pender AI and operates in the United Kingdom.
Company details will be published in the final policy.
3. Information we collect today
Enquiry details you choose to send us: your name, job title, school, email address, telephone number and message.
Information you enter into the matching demonstration on this website. The demonstration runs in your browser, is not submitted to a school, and is not stored by Pender. Please do not enter real personal information into it.
Non-identifying, aggregate measurements of website use, only if you accept analytics cookies.
4. Parent and guardian information
When accounts are introduced, the parent or guardian will be the account holder. We expect to hold a name, email address, country and any contact preferences.
Children are not asked to create accounts and are not the account holder.
5. Child and student information
Provided by the parent or guardian, and limited to what matching genuinely needs: age or year group, intended entry year, current country, academic interests, extracurricular interests, boarding preference, budget range, location preferences, curriculum preferences and language considerations.
We do not ask for passport numbers, a full home address, medical information, detailed school reports, government identification or financial account details. If a future feature ever requires additional information, the reason will be explained at the point it is requested.
6. How information is used
To build a structured student profile, to identify potentially suitable schools, to explain why a school could fit, to respond to your enquiries, and to improve the product using aggregate measurements.
7. School matching
Matching compares the structured profile against school information such as age range, boarding provision, curriculum, location, fee range and provision relevant to the child's interests.
School information published by Pender will be verified with schools before launch.
8. AI-assisted recommendations
Pender uses technology and AI-assisted tools to help identify potentially suitable schools. Recommendations are intended to assist families and do not constitute admissions decisions. The final admissions decision is always made by the school.
We do not claim that recommendations are objective, guaranteed or accurate to any particular percentage.
Where information is sent to an AI service, the architecture is designed around data minimisation: structured values such as age, budget range, boarding preference, interests and location preference are used in preference to identifiable student records. No AI service is connected to this website today.
9. When information may be shared with schools
Only when a parent explicitly chooses to contact a school. Before an enquiry is sent, we will make clear that the information necessary to respond to the enquiry may be shared with the selected school.
Pender does not sell personal information and does not share a family's information with schools that the family has not chosen.
10. Marketing communications
Marketing consent is kept separate from using the service and is never pre-selected. If you opt in, you can withdraw at any time using the link in any message or by contacting us.
11. Cookies and analytics
Essential browser storage keeps the site working and remembers your cookie choice. Analytics only run if you accept them, and analytics events are restricted by an allow-list so that names, email addresses, messages and information about a child are not included.
12. Service providers and processors
We use third-party providers for website hosting, email and, in future, database and analytics services. Providers will be selected on the basis that they process information only on our instructions, and the final policy will describe the categories of provider used.
13. International data transfers
Families using Pender are international, and some providers operate outside the United Kingdom. Where information is transferred internationally we will use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism, described in the final policy.
14. Data retention
Enquiry correspondence is kept only as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of our conversation. Future profiles will be retained while the account is active, and deleted on request or after a defined period of inactivity.
15. Data security
We use reputable infrastructure providers, encrypted connections and access controls proportionate to an early-stage product. Security measures will be reviewed and strengthened before real information about a child is collected. We do not make guarantees about the security of any system.
16. Access, correction and deletion
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. When accounts exist, a parent will be able to review and remove their child's information and request deletion of the account and its associated personal information.
17. Your data protection rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent. See the Your Data page for how to make a request.
18. Complaints
Please contact us first and we will try to put things right. You may also complain to the data protection authority that applies to you; in the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office.
