How it works
From a family's requirements to a school's admissions team.
Pender is designed as two connected pathways: one for families choosing a school, one for schools recruiting internationally. The long-term product joins them into a single process.
How Pender works
From family profile to school shortlist.
01
Tell us about your child
Share their age, interests, academic profile, budget, preferred location and ambitions.
02
Build their profile
Pender turns those requirements into a structured student profile.
03
Discover suitable schools
Our matching system identifies schools that align with the family's priorities.
04
Take the next step
Explore the matches, request information and move towards the admissions process.
The two pathways
Designed to meet in the middle.
Today these pathways are being built separately. As the platform develops, a family’s shortlist and a school’s admissions pipeline will be the same conversation, with information passed between them only when the family chooses to share it.

For families
The family pathway in detail.
Profile
A structured record of the student: age, current curriculum, academic strengths, English language position, boarding preference, budget, location and ambitions.
Matching
Requirements are compared against school criteria such as entry years, boarding provision, curriculum pathways, fees and extracurricular strengths.
Shortlist
A small, explained set of schools rather than a directory — with the reasoning behind each suggestion made visible.
School enquiry
Families choose which schools to contact. The student profile travels with the enquiry so conversations start with context.
Admissions
Assessments, interviews, references and deadlines tracked in one place, with the documentation international families typically need.
Enrolment
Offer, acceptance and the practical steps of guardianship, visas and arrival.
For schools
The school pathway in detail.
School profile
Verified information about entry points, boarding, curriculum, fees, scholarships and the international communities the school supports.
Relevant family discovery
The school appears where it genuinely fits a family's requirements, rather than competing on search ranking alone.
Qualified enquiry
Enquiries arrive with a structured student profile rather than a name and an email address.
Admissions engagement
Admissions teams can follow up with the context needed to assess suitability early.
Application
Requirements, assessments and deadlines communicated clearly to the family.
Enrolment
The school retains full control of every admissions decision.
Pender does not make admissions decisions on behalf of schools, does not guarantee places and does not publish unverified school information. Matching criteria and school data will be verified with schools before launch.
Responsible AI
AI-assisted, human-decided.
Pender uses technology and AI-assisted tools to help identify potentially suitable schools. Recommendations are intended to assist families and do not constitute admissions decisions. The final admissions decision is always made by the school.
We do not claim that recommendations are objective, guaranteed or accurate to any particular percentage. Where information is used for matching, structured values are preferred over identifiable records — for example age 14, budget £40,000–£45,000, full boarding, interests in tennis and science, England preferred.
Privacy & trust
Built around the trust a family places in us.
Choosing a school involves information about a child. We are designing Pender so that families share as little as possible, understand exactly how it is used, and decide when a school sees it.
Data minimisation by design
Pender is designed to minimise the personal information required to help families discover suitable schools. We ask for what matching genuinely needs — and nothing more.
Families stay in control
Families remain in control of when their information is shared with schools. Nothing is sent to a school unless a parent explicitly chooses to make an enquiry.
Honest about AI
Pender uses technology and AI-assisted tools to help identify potentially suitable schools. Recommendations are intended to assist families and do not constitute admissions decisions.
Parent-held accounts
The parent or guardian is the account holder. Children are not asked to create accounts, and a parent can review or remove their child's information.
The final admissions decision is always made by the school. Pender is an early-stage MVP: our data-processing architecture and legal documents will be reviewed before any real information about a child is collected, and we make no claim to have completed an independent privacy or compliance assessment.
